Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has provided an optimistic update on the injury status of Diogo Jota, indicating that the Portuguese forward could be nearing a return to action.

Jota has been sidelined since sustaining a knee injury during a match against Brentford last month, halting his impressive run of form for the Reds.

However, Klopp revealed in a pre-match press conference ahead of the clash against Manchester United that Jota, along with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones, is expected to be in contention for the fixture against Brighton after the international break.

“Curtis [Jones], and I think the other two are Diogo and Trent [Alexander-Arnold] for the week after. A chance, yeah,” Klopp stated.

This news will come as a boost for Liverpool fans, who have eagerly awaited the return of Jota, especially considering his impactful performances prior to his injury.

Despite missing from action for just over two weeks, Jota’s absence has been keenly felt due to Liverpool’s congested schedule, highlighting his importance to the team.

With Liverpool aiming to maintain their momentum in the Premier League and other competitions, having Jota back in the squad will provide Klopp with additional attacking options and bolster the team’s chances of success.
