Liverpool is reportedly eyeing PSV’s Johan Bakayoko as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, with the Reds already making moves to secure the promising European forward.
Amid uncertainties surrounding Salah’s future at Anfield, including Jurgen Klopp’s impending departure and interest from Saudi Arabia, Liverpool has begun exploring options for his replacement. Despite the daunting task of filling Salah’s shoes, Liverpool’s management appears confident in securing another efficient attacker.
According to Sky Sports Germany reporter Patrick Berger, Liverpool has expressed interest in signing Johan Bakayoko from PSV during the summer transfer window. Identified as a possible successor to Salah, Bakayoko is a right-winger known for his pace, directness, and adeptness with his left foot. His playing style involves cutting inside to unleash shots on goal or provide key passes to teammates.
At just 20 years old, the Belgian international has showcased his talent with seven goals and nine assists in 33 appearances across the Eredivisie and Champions League this season. Bakayoko has also earned a spot in the Belgium national team, highlighting his potential for growth and impact at the highest level.
However, securing Bakayoko’s signature won’t be straightforward for Liverpool, as other top clubs such as Manchester City, Chelsea, PSG, and Borussia Dortmund are also reportedly interested. With a price tag ranging between £42m-£50m, Bakayoko is a coveted talent in the transfer market, making the competition fierce for his services.
