Liverpool has been hit with yet another setback as Owen Beck, on loan at Scottish Premiership side Dundee, is set to return to the club due to a groin injury.
Beck, 21, had been enjoying a successful loan spell in Scotland, playing a crucial role in Dundee’s quest for a top-six finish. However, his absence from the recent Dundee-Aberdeen clash hinted at an injury, which has now been confirmed to sideline him for an extended period.
The Welshman’s injury comes as a blow to both Dundee and Liverpool, with Beck’s impressive form earning him 25 league appearances, two goals, and four assists during his loan stint. Recalled from his loan spell in January due to Liverpool’s injury crisis, Beck made his Premier League debut against Bournemouth and featured in other competitions for the Reds.
Despite his productive loan spell being temporarily halted, Dundee manager Tony Docherty remains hopeful of Beck’s return for the season’s run-in. However, Beck will undergo a scan and receive treatment at Liverpool, with the club closely monitoring his recovery.
With Beck’s setback, Liverpool faces another challenge in managing their defensive options, highlighting the importance of squad depth and resilience amid a demanding season.
